Welcome from the Executive Director

Greetings from the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR). The PCCR is the chiropractic profession's premier research institute, and I am pleased that you have chosen to learn more about us, our people and our programs. From here, you can find information about our research programs and projects, our personnel and facilities, our mission and vision, our grants and publications, and our Center. We are proud of our accomplishments and again welcome you to the PCCR.

Chiropractic Clinical Research Graduate Program

The Clinical Research Graduate Program is designed for D.C.s who want to gain competence in conducting clinical research. It forms the basis for the M.S. in Clinical Research program within the Division of Graduate Studies at Palmer. www.palmer.edu/gs

Former MS Students win honors

Graduates of the Clinical Research Training Program win first-place honors at the recent Association of Chiropractic Colleges Research Agenda Conference (ACC-RAC2008). Dr. Robert Rowell, along with co-investigator Dr. Judy Polipnick, won first-place honors for best clinical research paper at ACC-RAC 2008. Dr. Rowell's paper "A pilot mixed methods study of patient satisfaction with chiropractic care for back pain" was awarded the prize at a luncheon ceremony at this year's ACC-RAC conference. Both Dr. Rowell and Dr. Polipnick are graduates of the MS program in clinical research. The prize-winning paper grew out of Dr. Rowell's second research practicum project. In practicum work, graduate fellows conduct research under the guidance of faculty mentors. Dr. Rowell's practicum commmittee consisted of PCCR members Dr. Edward Owens (chair), Dr. Dana Lawrence and Dr. Cynthia Long. Dr. Rowell is now a member of the Department of Diagnosis at Palmer College of Chiropractic; Dr. Polipnick is a data analyst for a health care organization in Minnesota.
